Ellen Keiser of Coral Springs, Florida, writes to the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel regarding the completely unnecessary abuse of her six-year-old granddaughter after the girl had already passed through the walk-thru metal detector without raising any alarm:
She went through the metal detector with no problem. As expected, I set off the system and was asked to come to the side. However, as she was traveling with me, they also asked her to leave the line that she already had gone through and insisted on patting her down as well. She was crying and extremely frightened, to say the least. (Sun-Sentinel: Stop TSA from scaring the children, August 17, 2013)
Why do we permit government employees to abuse our children in this manner?
